WPO is a "webzine" dedicated to analyses of global public opinion on international issues. WPO publishes articles about the global and domestic polls its publisher, the Program on International Policy Attitudes (PIPA), conducts, including those it conducts with its many partners (the BBC, GlobeScan, Knowledge Netowrks, The Chicago Council on Global Affairs). It also publishes articles about polling about international issues conducted by other polling organizations. It is designed to be a comprehensive resource for the global public's opinion on a variety of international issues, such as global warming, nuclear proliferation, terrorism, globalization, international organizations, the war in Iraq, and much more.

The publishers of WPO believe that as the world becomes increasingly integrated, economic and security challenges have become increasingly global, creating a greater need for understanding between nations and for finding global norms. With the growth of democracy in the world, public opinion has come to play a greater role in the foreign policy process. WPO seeks to increase understanding of public opinion in specific nations around the world as well as to elucidate the global patterns of world public opinion.

WPO also is home to a resource for American opinion on global issues, called Americans & the World [2].
