Chairman, Broadcasting Board of Governors

Tomlinson is chairman of the Broadcasting Board of Governors, an agency responsible for the supervision of all non-military U.S. international broadcasting which includes: VOA, RFE/RL, RFA, Radio and TV Martí, Radio Sawa and AlHurra. He also serves as chairman of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Prior to joining the BBG, Tomlinson served as editor-in-chief of Reader's Digest and as Director of the Voice of America (1982 - 1984).
