Anne Armstrong is a US Diplomat and politician, who is best known for her role as the first female counsel to the President, under both the Nixon and Ford administrations. Armstrong received her Bachelor’s degree from Vassar College. She is currently the Vice-Chairman of the Executive committee for CSIS. From 1976 to 1977 she served as the first US, Female Ambassador to Great Britain. Armstrong also served as the Chairman of the Presidents Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board from 1981 until 1990. Her family is one of the most prominent in her home state of Texas and she personally has a long history with the Republican Party. In 1980 she was the co-chairman of the Reagan-Bush Presidential campaign. Armstrong is presently a lobbyist with Baker Botts in Washington.
